Rising Phoenix Cafe

Do you see the phoenix rising from the ashes in my latte?
As I brewed my daily latte I was contemplating my desire to let my fingers fly in the blogging world. Will my monkey mind shut up a bit if I spew it out onto the internet? Will my words and ideas help make anyone's life better? Deep thoughts while frothing the milk and I did something that I normally don't do.  I added cinnamon to the coffee before adding the milk.  As you can see, the weirdest thing happened. I poured the milk and could not help but see the phoenix rising within my cup. Now unlike the George Washington chicken nugget and grilled cheese Jesus- my phoenix cafe was going to be short lived, I was going to drink it. But it reminded me of something very important, find miracles everywhere. They are there if you look for them: the perfect parking spot, bumping into an old friend that you were just thinking of, the perfect change in your jacket pocket just when you needed it, the phoenix rising in your cup to remind you that you are more than you think you are. Or it could be a faint memory from Masters of the Universe-(He-man and She-Ra, where are you now?) image. Who knows.

Grayskull doesn't stand a chance!
What came into your world right when you wanted or needed it?
I guess you could say it was a touch of divine intervention - but that is only if you notice it. 1,000's of miracles happen everyday in your life. Your heart beats, your eyelids blink and re-moisten your eyeballs, your nose hairs catch foreign objects in what you breath so they don't make it to your lungs, your skin regenerates- all without you thinking about it. Damn, that's cool! Way cooler than a phoenix rising in a latte!

You can't be grouchy and do cartwheels on the beach!
Your body handles a ga-billion (I know that isn't really a word, but I mean a super ton, which also is not a specific measurement - but you get my drift) duties everyday. It loves you so much that it continues on through stress, trauma, shitty posture, chemical crap that you put in your body (fast food, pop, drugs, etc...) and still gets you through your day. Holy Moly!

You are a walking miracle!
What can you do to love your body back today for all it does for you?
I vote for :a self hi-five after every glass of water you drink .
Or how about spontaneous dance party in your kitchen to get your body moving- no music needed, or blast the Pandora Monster Ballads station.
Or how about "Walk like an Egyptian" every time you walk down the hallway today.
Or have a spinach salad for lunch and do you best Popeye the sailor man impersonation "I ams what I ams and thats all that I ams" and then of course flex your muscles.
And as you know, Obviously, go get adjusted from your Rock Star Chiropractor - they  make sure your body is always at its best for you!

There are so many things to be excited about, I would rather live a passion filled life where people think my ideas are crazy than one of putting my head down and attempting to move forward with everyone's acceptance. That realization is a miracle in itself. Hugs!

Thanks Mimi (Kim :)- still not used to calling you Mimi)

I feel that in the amazing words of D. D. Palmer about Chiropractic Philosophy and the falling snow-the lighter it falls the more it penetrates. I want to empower people to be healthy from within with a dose of humor so it "soaks in"- thank you for your support!

Bethany, thanks for bringing up the importance of the human body - it is absolutely fascinating. Take a moment right now to notice YOUR body; yup, the one that encases your mind and your brain and then everything else all the way down to the tip of your toes. Notice it! Really notice your body. Consider the ga-zillion (love the term) things your body does for you in each nano second, which often, gets taken for granted.

It's not an excuse but the human body "presto, magic" operating systems allows for a bit of foolery in another developmental realm. The realm of personal development, Bethany's latte phoenix awareness. The "automatic" physical growth and "automatic" functioning of body systems gives the illusion that our relationship with ourselves, others, and the globe we inhabit also "just grows". Personal development is intentional. It's not on automatic like the body. As children, if we are lucky, adults around us provide ways for us to experience personal development but it has to be actively intentional. It just does not happen while our bodies are physically growing as a child. Later in life, at about age 25 onward, adult intentional personal development is a critical success factor to the body you inhabit and to the life you are living. No matter your level of education or "doing" life experiences, your action to take complete ownership of your personal development growth, which by the way is dynamic, is as significant as the growing of your body from conception onward. What habits and patterns do you have that no longer serve you? What needs or beliefs do you have that also no longer serve you? What is emerging for you thus what do you need to let go of?

You are so right Barb! How wonderful if the pursuit of personal growth could be taught instead of people hearing about it in their 30's and it being seen as woo-woo. Thanks for your insights Barb- I hope to see you soon!
