Jeanne Randazzo Szczech is my very favorite mortgage queen. She is one of the smartest people I know. www.arete.us. She is someone that I am always glad is in my corner. She educated me on how and when we should refinance and to do it intelligently and not "rush rush get 'er done" style so she could get a commission. She always has your best interests at heart, that is what I call integrity. It is a big deal to lay out your finances out to someone - it makes you feel 'exposed' but with her she walks you through the process so it is not scary or nerve racking. She is amazing-connect with her to see how she can help you!

Dave and Candee with Gardenhart Landscape & Design have transformed the outside of Thrive to an absolute color emporium. Their organic approach to what the climate would work well with mixed in with what we want gives a great balance to have a beautiful entrance for the Thriver's coming into our practice. Dave's understanding of the natural world is a vitalistic one - and not a wham bam throw it in the ground and see if it grows one. He is the wise oak of landscaping that still has a workhorse ability.

Julie at Durango Community Acupuncture is one of the most present people that I know. When you see her, to move forward with your health naturally, she is with you each step of the way. She works with her clients to help them attain their health goals without drugs or surgery. I have had experience with several acupuncturists in my life and Julie is the most personable and caring that I have had the pleasure to know. Durango is lucky to have her. She also donates her time to the Durango Veteran's Acupuncture Clinic located at the VFW that treats veterans and their families. There is no end to her generosity for the health of our community.

Can-Do Services Gets 'er Done

Kelley and her team bring sanity to my life. They clean up my mental dust bunnies by saving me hours a week. By cleaning our home so we can spend more time with our children and with each other. That time is priceless, and so is my sanity:). Kelley has an eye for detail and she understands what I want to come home to. She works with my schedule and she is a valued friend. I can lovingly say "She is my favorite Texan!"

Renelle Stewart at Oxygen Fitness is a butt kicker! If you want to get in shape or you think you are in shape, then call her and have her check. I promise, she will help you find muscles that you forgot you had and help you tone them to better support your body. The gym is super cute and you don't feel self conscious being at a mega gym. Also, she has the ozone sauna that detoxes you in a whole new way. You sit in a sauna with your head sticking out while ozone is pumped in to help your cells dump toxins. Talk about gross! Better out than in I always say. After only 2 sessions I noticed feeling more alert - toxins are lame energy suckers!!

Have you ever thought about hiking the Colorado trail but you were too intimidated by the permits, maps, safety hazards, the amount of food you would have to heft in and not to mention all of the unknowns?? Well my very good friends have that covered. They handle all of the details of the hike, you just bring your desire to explore and a day pack. While you trek the trail with your highly trained guides, they are going ahead and preparing your campsite and your amazing meal. None of which you have to carry on your back. They handle everything! Courtney Harshberger is your new insurance agent

Have you ever heard the phrase " No one will care as much as you do" - well in the case of insurance, that is not true. When I was struck from behind while at a red light, Courtney was the first person I called (after being adjusted) and guess what she told me "Go hug your children!" That meant the world to me, that she cared more about my emotional state than what paperwork I needed to fill out at that moment. Caring and Insurance have not necessarily been known to be hand in hand - it is with Courtney at her Farmer's agency. She is honest with your needs and has a refreshing approach to insurance for the long run. I am thankful that I can call her a friend, and you should call her your insurance agent.

Kenpo Karate with Altitude :)

Tim Smith and the rest of the team at Durango Kenpo Karate are phenomenal! They do not teach the students through yelling and intimidation, on the contrary, they teach through communication, patience and respect. My son LOVES karate so much that most weeks, he goes 6 days per week. He loves the belt training, grappling, sparing, new friends that he has made, helping teach the younger students and confidence in his abilities to protect himself and protect others that cannot. Also, it is the best deal in town, it is a low monthly fee for SOOOOO much value. I am so very grateful that we referred to Tim and his team- I have a VERY happy blue belt!

Animas Detail Makes Me Feel as if I am Driving a New Car!

Bill at Animas Detail is not a car detailer, he is more like a magician. People can't believe how old our car actually is because it is so well taken care of thanks to Bill. When I get my car back - I lock my doors because, I don't want to let my kids back in :). When I get in my car, it is like a mini chunk of peace for me and peace is easier to attain when there is not a layer of Durango dust covering everything. I guess you could call Bill the DustBuster! My headspace feels clearer when I don't feel like I need a hand wipe after I get out of my car & my friends KNOW how I feel about hand wipes-JUST SAY NO TO WIPES! Chris Szczech is the first contractor who stands behind his word. "The art is in a job well done." Well done indeed. He shows up when he says he will, he cleans up after himself, his work is top notch and to top it all off - he is a really nice guy that you can talk to. Sometimes it feels like contractors speak another language, not Chris- he speaks "home owner", how refreshing!
